Laguna Beach, Califronia

San Diego and its surroundings are probably my favorite part of the US. Last month, on my way to a conference in San Diego, I took a break and spent a weekend in Laguna Beach with my former high school coach, Curtis. As always, it was great to see old friends and catch up. You just have to make sure they do not talk you into trying out surfing. Especially if you have never done it before :-) I must admit that the feeling was awesome, but anxiousness was also there as I was floating on the board out in the open water, waiting for a fin to come up next to me. However, waves made sure that I was back to the beach just as fast as I paddled out, so I think sharks could not catch up with me even if they wanted. Curtis, I guess I will just have to work on my turtle dive some more :-) It was a weekend in paradise...
