There is no place like home…even when it is 45 degrees outside and there is no AC in sight :-) as the last several weeks were marked with some of the highest temperatures ever recorder in Belgrade. Still, walking down those familiar streets was nothing less enjoyable than the last time I was there about a year ago. Spending time on the banks of the rivers Sava and Danube, roaming through the city snoozed by the July Sun, eating burek in the old bakeries that have not changed at all…it just reminded me how much I miss this place…Sometimes you get so caught up in the pace of the day, somewhere miles and miles away, and you tend to forget what really matters…then a trip home, time with the family & friends, and Belgrade’s summer nights, bring you back in time…and it feels like I have never left…that I have been there all along…
